The manufacturer of your PC has licensed the Microsoft products listed in this document.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2026and a few paragraphs later\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis card includes the ACTIVATION KEY for your MICROSOFT OFFICE product.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It seems straightforward enough, right? There\u2019s the serial number at the bottom (strategically covered by my \u201capparently plays in the dirt for a living\u201d thumb), and a website link at the bottom to go download and register the software.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-4039 alignnone\" alt=\"SerialCard\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/royceeddington.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/SerialCard1.jpg?resize=584%2C782&#038;ssl=1\" width=\"584\" height=\"782\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/royceeddington.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/SerialCard1.jpg?w=968&amp;ssl=1 968w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/royceeddington.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/SerialCard1.jpg?resize=224%2C300&amp;ssl=1 224w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/royceeddington.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/SerialCard1.jpg?resize=764%2C1024&amp;ssl=1 764w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 584px) 100vw, 584px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\nSo here\u2019s the happy happy joy joy part &#8211; the website listed on every one of these rat-bastard product cards say to go to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/office\">microsoft.com\/office<\/a><\/p>\n<p>You go there, you swim in the abyss.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.Microsoft.com\/office\">Microsoft.com\/office<\/a> takes you straight down into the \u201clight don\u2019t reach here\u201d depths of Office sales, where you will be offered every iteration of Office 360, Office online, Office a-la-carte, Office with Cheese and dozens of other suites in every combination possible. Links to links to links to links, but nothing to take you to download your software or point you out of the maze.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s what you need to do. If you have one of these activation cards for Office, go straight to Office\u2019s other website\u2026<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.office.com\/setup\">office.com\/setup<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Once you\u2019re there (and it automatically redirects you to <a href=\"http:\/\/officesetup.getmicrosoftkey.com\">officesetup.getmicrosoftkey.com<\/a>) just type in the product key on that piece of paper in the \u201cEnter Your Product Key\u201d box and press GET STARTED.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s it.<\/p>\n<p>You will then be prompted to download your Office Suite and tie it into one of your email accounts.<\/p>\n<p>Just like that.<\/p>\n<p>Who knew instructions on how to download and install your software should actually have a link so you can, oh I don\u2019t know, ACTUALLY DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL YOUR SOFTWARE?!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Have you ever received in a bundled laptop package a piece of paper that says\u2026 \u201cDO NOT DISCARD &#8211; MICROSOFT PRODUCT IDENTIFIER.
