Free HP Photo creations software link

In some of the HP ink I just purchased, there was a brochure inside that had a link for a free copy of HP Photo Creations software.

According to the HP website, “HP Photo Creations is free software that lets you easily create photo books, calendars, collages, greeting cards and other keepsakes that can be printed at home or shipped to you… With HP Photo Creations you can automatically make beautiful keepsakes with just a few mouse clicks; or you can take your time and customize your keepsakes with over 1,800 high quality artwork designs, 1,300 placeable graphics, placeable text boxes, custom fonts, borders, and dozens of photo editing tools.”

“Here are some of the keepsakes you can make with HP Photo Creations:

Print at Home

  • Landscape photo book pages (8.5″ x 11″ or 5″ x 7″)
  • Square digital scrapbook pages (12″ x 12″)
  • Prints and collages (4″ x 6″ up to 13″ x 19″)
  • Photo cards (4″ x 6″, 5″ x 7″ or 4″ x 8″)

Unfortunately for Mac users, it’s PC only software. And at 15 MB, it’s a iTunes-sized download. But you can’t argue with free.

Here’s the link to the free HP Photo Creations software.

  1. Thank you for the coverage. We’re putting the final touches on the Mac version and expect to upload it this month. It will also be a free download from http://www.hp.com/go/hppc. The Mac version works with OS 10.5 and up.

The download size is small considering the number of themes and graphics supplied. Downloading the software should take only a couple of minutes on a typical connection.

And the graphics, rendered in our proprietary format, are much more flexible as well. As soon as you load your photos, they map to every item in the catalog, regardless of its shape. Converting a photo book to a family of cards or coffee mugs takes just two clicks.

    Thanks again,

  2. Update: The Mac version came out this summer, and we’ve since released several free updates, including more than 100 holiday theme variations. You can see several of them, plus other layout examples, on our new Facebook page. Thanks again.

  3. I’ll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)

  4. I have just purchased the Photosmart Plus B210. I use a Mac OS 10.6 and live in Canada. Is this free download available to me and where can I get it on-line?

  5. I just downloaded onto my Mac and when I click on it to use it, it reopens the download. It said I loaded it?? Also when I first loaded it, it had prices. I don’t understand that if it is free??

Outside of my Mac I own two HP printers and 3 HP computers or Compac. With that said I think HP should supply some free things but if it has prices, how can it be free? And if I can’t use it because after download it doesn’t open except to download it again, that is a problem.

    • I just downloaded it myself on 10.7.1 to see if something changed from the desktop I installed it on before.

After installing and opening the “HP Photo Creations” in the Applications folder (and agreeing with the ever-present license agreement) the app started off on the HOME tab.

The HOME tab does have a LOT of things for sale from HP, but if you click on the top DESIGN tab, it will let you get into the patterns, characters, and things you can do locally.

You will have to be online for some things to download the first time, and be sure you select PRINT LOCALLY and not PICKUP AT STORE or SHIP TO HOME. That’s where they will charge you for their services.

      Hope this helps!
